Our No1 priority is the health and safety of employees, the general public and others. As a Safe Contractor and CHAS certified contractor you can be assured we are working to the highest standards.
The management team works closely with external health and safety advisers to be sure of exceeding the current legal requirements and regularly reviews Urban's comprehensive Safety policy accordingly.
Maintaining a thorough monitoring programme helps us to keep the highest standards of safety, health and welfare in place and quickly identify any part of the policy which is ineffective before appropriately rectifying the problem.
No safety policy can function properly without the support and co-operation of all those affected by it. Therefore, every member of the team is regularly reminded that they have a legal duty not only to work in a safe manner, but also to co-operate in efforts to create safe and healthy working conditions.
We ensure that all staff are CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card holders and have additional Health & Safety training, refresher courses and improved screening of sub-contractors’ policies planned.
We recognise the importance of both internal and external communication across all our activities – whether on-site, in the workshop or office, with customers or with suppliers.
Maintaining a close-knit team and working with a carefully selected network of professionals allows us to appoint each project with a team which appreciates the specific requirements of that job.
Good communication and understanding also help us to achieve enjoyment in our work. We believe that by really enjoying what we do, we can work together as a more effective team. In addition, by fully understanding our clients’ needs, and equipping each team member with an awareness of those needs, we proactively anticipate and solve any problems that may arise – keeping the team and our clients happy.
Everything we do impacts on the environment and we take care to make that impact a positive one. Sustainable solutions are sought wherever possible and detrimental effects are minimised through planning, training, processes and systems described below.
